I have made a bit of a name for myself in the past for my involvement in the struggle against enforced institutional ecumenism by the Lutheran Church. In particular, I opposed the ecumenical agreement with the Episcopalians. One reason is that they have a very different understanding of the church than Lutherans (are supposed to) have.
Another reason I opposed this alliance is that the Episcopal church is one that has lost its' way, theologically. (See anything by David Virtue for evidence.) But a significant piece of evidence is this: What is the former president of the Islamic Republic of Iran doing speaking at the National Cathedral?
